Quality Childcare in the Heart of Raumati Beach
Part of the Raumati Beach community for almost three decades, Kāpiti Children’s Centre (KCC) follows a curriculum inspired by the teachings of Emmi Pikler, designed to promote learning through explorative, open-ended play. Our daycare centre is built on a philosophy of providing a fun, nurturing space for children to learn and grow and is a great alternative to kindergarten.
We are open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm and cater for children aged from six months to six years of age.
Small by design, we are licensed for a maximum of forty-seven children each day, allowing our staff to spend quality time with each child and foster a family-like atmosphere. We believe children should be allowed to be children and our experienced teaching team love to let them lead play activities, with support them to explore and learn as they go. Nature plays a large part of our curriculum, and we value curiosity and imagination.
We are proud of the centre’s environment, which is homely and allows the space and opportunity children could possibly want to explore, play and relax. Our large indoor spaces are surrounded by a covered deck and an extensive outdoor play area with grass and trees.
It’s our goal to be a home away from home, a place where love and affection are a daily practice and where children are respected and encouraged to be curious and learn through play.
We provide morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a light snack later in the afternoon. Our wonderful cook can cater to any dietary needs.
Our fee schedule provides flexibility and great value for all we provide. Children aged three to six years are eligible for 20 free hours under the Government funded “20 ECE” programme, and we can assist parents apply for a WINZ subsidy if applicable.
